makapu’u overlook - Florals and Decor
There are lots of ways to personalize your Makapu’u Overlook wedding. Please take some time to look over this page in detail before filling out the “Florals & Decor Questionnaire”. Also, don’t worry about completing this step until your planner has asked you to.
Options to Personalize your makapu’u overlook wedding Ceremony …
1. Wooden White Chairs for guests with white padding - $8.50 USD each + setup/delivery fees.
2. Add a Wedding Arbor:
You have the option to add a custom wedding arbor with florals. Most couples will only add in a wedding arbor if they are having the ceremony outside on the grass or deck. If you are planning to get married in the chapel an arbor isn’t necessary. You may want to consider adding in larger ground floral arrangements instead.
3. Decide on Ceremony Location (chapel, grassy mound or wooden deck):
- Most couples choose to get married in the glass chapel at this location. There are however two other options to consider. There is a grassy mound that is perfect for elopements and smaller weddings OR you can have the ceremony on the flat wooden deck.
*See photos below and decide which you like best.
4. Add a White Orchid Aisle scatter: ($300)
- Cover your aisle in loose fresh white orchids.
6. Add a Bouquet & Boutonnieres. Your package already comes with 1 bouquet for the Bride but you may choose to add in additional bouquets for bridesmaids or boutonnieres for the men. We can have our florist design the bouquet to match any inspiration photo. Prices will vary depending on the type of florals, size and design. We will get you a custom quote.
7. Add a Haku Lei for the bride, bridesmaids and flower girls - or just the bride! A Haku Lei is a handmade floral head lei designed by the florist to match the bouquet(s). See sample photos below for inspiration. Cost will vary depending on the size, type of florals and design.
9. Wrist Corsages for moms and grandmothers. A wrist corsage is a custom floral piece designed to tie onto the wrist with a ribbon. Mothers and grandmothers usually love these. I don’t have any sample photos but they’re really pretty and designed to match the bridal bouquet.
10. Tossing Petals. Add in rose petals for a pretty “flower shower” after you say “i do”. We will pass the petals out to guests and they can toss over you as you walk down the aisle. You may also use these petals for flower girls.
* Please fill out the Floral Decor Questionnaire form below if you are interested in adding any additional wedding florals because the florist does book up quickly. Once the form is filled out and submitted we will work with the florist to get you a custom quote. You can decide what you do and do not want once you receive the custom floral quote.

ceremony location options
There are 3 spaces you could choose to hold your wedding ceremony. The first option is to have the ceremony on a grassy mound. It sits higher up and is a bit uneven but since it’s higher the view is amazing. If you have guests, it’s best to have them in chairs at the bottom of the hill. See sample photo below.
The second option is to hold the ceremony on a flat wooden deck area built specifically for ceremonies. It’s bigger and flat and about 50ft away from the grassy mound, so you can get married on the deck and then walk over to the mound for photos afterwards. See sample photos below.
The third option is to get married in the glass chapel. There are pews in the chapel for up to 45 guests, so you don’t need to add in chairs if you use the chapel. The chapel is made of glass so you can see the ocean through the back of the chapel.
You have access to all three spots and can use them for the ceremony and photos.
The two photos above show the grassy mound location. If you choose to do chairs at this location we place the chairs at the bottom fo the hill. The grass is a bit uneven, and it’s a little steeper than it looks in this photo, but the higher location gives an amazing view.
The three photos above show the wooden deck. It’s about 50 feet way from the grassy mound and a really great option if you have guests and want to be on a flat surface.
The three photos above show the glass chapel. It is really pretty and has ocean views as a backdrop. You can choose to get married in the chapel and take photos outside on the cliff after the ceremony. Or just use the chapel as a rain back-up option if you’d prefer to get married outside.
Chair Rentals : White padded chairs available for rent if you would like to get married outside (see photo below)
White Wooden Padded Chair ($8.50/chair)
Bouquet, Boutonnieres, haku leis
Bridal bouquet with matching boutonniere. This is a larger bouquet and would be closer to $250-$300 range.
Bridal bouquet, matching haku head lei (both of these are add-ons). The groom is wearing the classic maile lei with pikake wrap (this is included in your wedding package - no extra charge).
Matching mom and daughter haku leis - haku leis are great for flower girls!
Large bridal bouquet with matching haku (this bouquet uses Protea florals and is on the larger size so it would be closer to $400)
Hawaii tropical bouquet
Grooms boutonniere, pinned from behind onto the suit jacket. The boutonnieres work best when pinned into a thicker fabric like a jacket (loose fitting fabrics like an Aloha shirt) do not hold a boutonniere up well. Boutonnieres are designed to match the bridal bouquet and are about $20 each.
The classic bridal bouquet, this bouquet would be more of a standard size and about $250.
The classic haku leis with a tropical floral mix
Bride & bridesmaids bouquets (these bouquets use Protea florals and are larger so they would be more expensive $250-$350)
All white classic bridal bouquet
