ho’omaluhia - Florals and Decor

There are lots of options on how you can personalize your Botanical Garden wedding. Please take some time to look over this page in detail before filling out the “Florals & Decor Questionnaire”. Also, don’t worry about completing this step until your planner has asked you to.

Options to Personalize your botanical garden wedding Ceremony …

1.   White Orchid Aisle. Add white orchids to create a floral aisle ($300)

2. Bouquet & Boutonnieres. Your package already comes with a bridal bouquet. Send us inspirational photos and will have it custom designed for you. You may also choose to add in additional Bridesmaids bouquets or boutonnieres for the men.

3. Add a Haku Lei for the bride, bridesmaids and flower girls! A Haku Lei is a handmade floral head lei designed by the florist to match the bouquet(s). See sample photos below for inspiration. Cost will vary depending on the size, type of florals and design.

4. Wrist Corsages for moms and grandmothers. A wrist corsage is a custom floral piece designed to tie onto the wrist with a ribbon. Mothers and grandmothers love these.

5. Ceremony Backdrop Unfortunately arches and altars are not allowed at the botanical gardens, nothing can be staked into the ground. We can however do large ground floral backdrop or a babies breath ceremony circle for an added fee. Let us know if this is something of interest and we will get you a custom quote plus handle all the setup.

6. Rose Petals. Add in rose petals to do a fresh petal toss after the ceremony for an added fee. It’s a fun way to celebrate and looks amazing in photos. All florals need to be picked up after the ceremony and our team will handle that for you.

* Please fill out the Floral Decor Questionnaire form below if you are interested in adding any additional wedding florals because the florist does book up quickly. Once the form is filled out and submitted we will work with the florist to get you a custom quote. You can decide what you do and do not want once you receive the custom floral quote.

Floral altar ideas & aisle flowers

Some close up samples of an actual floral altar set up at Ho’omaluhia. This is the Kahua Nui ceremony location, the spot we use most often for wedding ceremonies in the gardens. On the left we did a full floral backdrop and on the right two large floral baskets. If you’d like to do an arrangement similar to this, please let us know in the floral form (above). We can also do a babies breath circle which is really pretty. Pricing will vary depending on the size/scale of the florals and the type of florals you choose. These types shown below (more traditional Hawaiian florals) are sturdy and hold up well, they’re also tall and brightly colored which looks nice against all the greenery in the mountains. Pricing will vary and we will get you a custom quote upon request.

Full floral backdrop - 6 large 3-4ft floral pieces set up behind the bride and groom to add some color to the ceremony area. Cost will vary depending on the size and types of florals.

Large floral baskets (add a floral basket to the sides of the altar to bring some color into the ceremony area). Price varies depending on floral style and size.

Baby’s breath circle for the altar. This was really pretty and a simple way to create a special space to say “I do”. Quote will vary depending on time of year.

orchid Aisle Flowers

Another fun way to personalize your wedding ceremony is to add some florals to create an aisle. Add in white orchids to the aisle for $300.

Rose Petal Flower Shower (after you say “I do”). Add in rose petals to do a flower shower.

Grooms boutonniere, pinned from behind onto the suit jacket. The boutonnieres work best when pinned into a thicker fabric like a jacket (loose fitting fabrics like an Aloha shirt) do not hold a boutonniere up well. Boutonnieres are designed to match the bridal bouquet.

The classic bridal bouquet, this bouquet would be more of a standard size and classic design.
